Environmentally Friendly Collision Centre

Brampton, ON, November 21, 2007 - The Brampton Auto Mall celebrates today the grand opening of the new Brampton Auto Mall Collision Centre, a spacious, state of the art facility leveraging the latest in environmentally friendly technology. The opening is particularly notable as it is one of the first in Canada to employ cutting-edge green technology from DuPont.

The new centre will now exclusively use waterborne basecoat paints.  The use of waterborne products dramatically reduces the amount of solvent and volatile organic compounds that would otherwise evaporate into the air.

The federal government recently announced its Climate Change Plan for reducing green house gas emissions by 18 percent by the year 2010.  As part of that plan, the federal government will bring forward a regulation to limit volatile organic compounds in automotive refinish coatings in Canada by January 1st, 2009. The Brampton Auto Mall decided to make this switch well ahead of the required timing, and is happy to embrace the green technology.

"We implemented the best green technology available because we believe that it's the right thing to do to protect the environment," stated John Cook, General Manager of the Brampton Auto Mall Collision Centre.  "I'm very proud that our organization is leading the efforts to implement green technology. People in the region now have the option to have their vehicle repaired in a collision centre which is truly environmentally friendly."

Doing the right thing has long been a core value of the Brampton Auto Mall.  Recognized for a strong commitment to local community and charities, the auto mall makes issues such as the environment a key priority. "It is truly a joy to get up in the morning to work for an organization which is intent on being positive role models within our community," shared Bob Meads, Director of Fixed Operations.  "I know that our staff feels the same."

Supporting Brampton's William Osler Health Centre

Brampton, ON, December 4, 2007 - The Brampton Auto Mall delivered good news to Brampton's new William Osler Health Centre today, in the form of a significant contribution to the hospital foundation's "Here For You... Caring For You" community fundraising campaign.  The total value of the cash and in-kind donation was a hefty $44,300.

In the spirit of the holiday season, representatives of each of the ten dealerships located in the Brampton Auto Mall carried symbolic gift boxes with their respective logos, presenting these to hospital dignitaries in joyful celebration of a successful fundraising partnership.

Anne Randall, President and CEO of the William Osler Health Centre Foundation, was elated as she gratefully acknowledged the significant contribution.  "The generous donation from the Brampton Auto Mall's 'How Cars Can Make a Difference' fundraising promotion has driven us closer to reaching our $120 million community campaign goal. On behalf of the Osler Foundation and our hospital's patients, I am thankful for their tremendous support."

Brampton Auto Mall spokesperson Drew Delaware was enthusiastic about the ripple effects that the promotion has on the community.  "The Brampton Auto Mall is proud of its strong history of generous philanthropy, particularly in support of our local community.  We hope that our leadership in important community campaigns will inspire local businesses of all sizes to follow our lead, and contribute generously to our new hospital."
